haha, man i am so excited about this email. You'll see why in a second. =)
Ok well a quick update on chris. He didn't end up getting baptized, like we were hoping. He has actually lost all contact with him annd he wont return our phone calls or anything. Kinda lame, but things seem to work out how the Lord wants them to. If i dont see him get baptized, someone else will. The important thing is that he sees himself get baptized haha. =) I had a great interview with President Young this week. Of course sister Young asked about jake and when he is getting married. I love the Youngs they are so great. You guys will love them. haha.
so the miracle/story of the week starts with us on splits with some members int he family ward. Elder Nygren went with a guy named brother davis to visit some familis on the ward list that we didnt know too much about and they knocked on one door, it turns out the family had moved but the lady that answered the door had taken the missionary lessons before and told us to come back the next day. so we go back the next day with a member and have an amazing lesson with her. She starts by telling us that after they left last night she opened up the bible and found this scripture in 2 corinthians1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three awitnesses shall every word be established.
2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.
4 For though he was acrucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 aExamine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how thatbJesus cChrist is in you, except ye be reprobates?
haha, can you believe that???? She then said "i was thinking about it and I have taken the missionary lessons twice before and i almost got baptized and so i figure i better do something about it this time or else i will be in big trouble..." we set a baptismal date with her for the 31st!!!! It actually may end up being moved back a week or two though, we are hoping not so please feel free to keep her in your prayers. her name is liz. the next night we were texting her reminding her to read and pray and she told us that she had ben and here is what she said "i have been reading and praying and i read a chapter last night that really stuck out to me 2 nephi 31, particularly verse 5-13, elder nygren and i just looked at each other and were like...what in the world???? who just randomly opens up to 2 nephi 31 the doctrine of christ???? she is being so prepared and getting so many answers to her prayers. it is amazing. we are excited for her. then the next day we had a chappel tour with her and a family in the ward and she decided to tel us she thoguht it would be a good idea to quit smoking haha. holdy donuts she is awesome.
This week we also met a marshaleese family that we are going to start working with, oour next appointment with them is on friday, there are like 7 familis from the marshal islands in our ward right now so we are excited to hopefully see this family as well. they told us they would like o come to church. yaya!!!! haha. This week was so full of miracles. i cant even explain. holy cow. =)
