Hello Hello, well it is the week after easter and it sounds like it was a good one for you all.
Well things are going pretty well here, It seems that most of the people we are working with are right there on the edge of being fully converted, and they are just one little push away and it is so frustrating that they wont make that push, haha, this week was a little struggle as lots of appointments cancelled and people were doing other things, but that is ok. I guess that just means that there is something I am supposed to learn from all of this huh? I am excited to see what happens when we make it through and those we are working with do make that push. There will be lots more miracles to be seen huh? Just a quick update on all of them. Liz is doing well, she still hasn't come to church, but as soon as she does she will be baptized way quick, she wants to be baptized and knows it is all true, she just has to come to church. We had a great lesson with her the other day where we talked about matthew 11:28 "come unto me all ye that labor and are heavey laden and i will give you rest" and we used a few other scriptures to help her see that especially in her time of need she can receive the help she needs as she looks to the savior and her father in heaven. definitely a lesson she needed to hear. =) We have a few part members families as well. A guy named Jeff, he is great. and we had an amazing lesson on the restoration and how because christs true church is on the earth that the authority for families to be for ever is on the earth as well. He really wants to be baptized i think, The biggest problem with him is his wife is semi less active and i think she isn't too comfortable yet. Soon, very soon. another man named miguel we are working with, he is pretty cool and has two lttle kids, nathan and megan, they are so adorable, We have had some tender moments with that family as in every lesson nathan really wants to say the prayer, and he usually asks me to help him. you should feel the spirit at those times. So so powerful. They came to the ward easter party this past week and loved it. =) Bob, is doing ok....still kind of lacking faith in himself and so we are having a hard time trying to figure out how to help him. haha, kinda hard to help someone who wont help themself. We may end up dropping him for a week or two then coming back over so he recognizes the spirit. We have a few other people including a family from the marshal islands that we are working with. Super awesome family. Our ward has like 6 or 7 marshaleese familiels in it and so it is cool that we can use tem to help fellowship them. It has given me a major testimony that the Lord know all of his children and what they need not only with the marshaleese families but we have met so many people who only communcate in sign language and it just so happens we have aguy in our ward who serve a mission in the asl program. Cool huh?
This past week we had the chance to go to eugene for zone leader council and it was a little bit different than the other ones, allow me to explain. At the very beginning of the meeting president pulled all of the sr zone leaders out of the room and took us into another room and said to us "this summer the mission loses a lot of amazing missionaries, and if we arent careful the mission could plummit dramatically" He then went on and told us that we need to build up our companions to be leaders quick, to lead them early so they can lead others early. It was an interesting conversation one that i can bet that most of us in the room didnt want to have, haha, but it gave me an incredible sense of urgency so on that note, if any of you have any advice for me i would be love it so much. now more than ever. =) After zlc president and i were able to have a conversation and he said "elder nelson you have grown so much, i want you to get your zone on fire...quick" so again i would love any advice, like josh or jake how did you help your missionaries catch the vision? what do you do to get them to be urgent about the work? These are hard qustions but you guys all know how to answer them. Mom, when in young womens, how did you get them excited to do a service project? or to do their personal progress stuff? any advice you have is gladly welcomed. =) It was a great meeting though, we spoke a lot about three things.

and three connections we need to have between us and our father in heaven in order for us to be able to hlep our investigators have them with their father in heaven. Church attendance, the book of mormon, and prayer. It was a great way of getting us to reflect on our personal conversion and not simply saying things to go through the motions but actually believing what we say. It remindedme of a story i hear : while elder holland was speaking at the mtc he had the missionaries recite their puprose and after they did he said "i think it is time we stop saying it and start believing and doing it." it is easy to simply say to an investigator just pray and you'll get your answer or just read the scriptures adn everything will be ok, but when we truly believe and mean it, athat is when the conversion takes place. it reminded me of an experience form before my mssin with josh, i remember coming home from work one night and seeing him in his room reading the scriptures, not only did it make me want to read but it gave me the chance to go sit on the floor in his room and read with him. LIke the promise joseph smith gives a the front "a man will get nearere to god by abiding it spreceptes than any other book" it allowed me to (from the scriptures) come closer to my father in heaven and to my brother. =) Likewise i am sure that has happend to you guys read it this past year as a challenge from bishop. It is kinda an interesting thing to think about huh? Just a good thing to reflect on and think about. I think that is a lot of what general conference focused on as well. =)
Wel dad you asked the question if there was anything i needed, i think i am doing pretty alright, haha, i may need another pair of pants though..in this area i have had 3 pairs get holes in them just worn from use, the ones i had at the beginning, so i f you check my account i gusess that will help me see if i can get more? Thakns for all you guys do. I hlpe you know how much i love youand look up to you. have a great week and know you are in my prayers.
