Hello Hello, How are you all doing? Didn't i just email you??? It feels like i did. I am in love with grants pass, it is amazing. we have definitely been blessed with the weather lately. I thought for sure it would be raining by now, but today i am actually in short sleeves because it is such gorgeous weather. The leaves are incredible, and the the wind and sun and everything is just gorgeous. Love it. I feel bad i can't remember everything that happened this week, i promise i will start writing stuff down so i know what i can report to you haha. But i will tell you about the things that i do remember. Deal? Deal. =)
This week went really well, on saturday I was on exchanges with a new missionary who has been out for 3 weeks, and we were in my area, (you can be proud i didnt get lost once after only being in the area for a short time) haha, so towards the end of the day we had an appointment with a pastor that we knocked on his door, then helped him move, then saturday he wanted to meet with us, so we go over there and sit down and the best way i can describe it is like the hiyenas from the lion king. so we sat down with this guy, and out of no where another guy walks in...then another...and a couple minutes later another one....so like 15 minutes into this lesson, i am sitting there with 4...yup 4 pastors all heads of another church with a 3 week old missionary by my side. Seriously i felt like simba and nala in the elephant graveyard with scars hiyenas on the prowl. YIKES!!!!! It was pretty darn intense. haha, so they start asking all these stupid questions trying to get us to bash, then they start talking about how no one chooses to follow christ themselves...and i was like "oh really well how did peter james and john do it then?" and the main guy was way taken aback (point number one for Lds) and then he twisted to some other tangent because he didnt have a good enough rebuttle, and everything i tried to say they didnt listen to (selective hearing) so i was like this is useless, so in the end we just bore solid testimony and told them we had another appointment to go to (point number two for Lds). as we left I reflected back on the experience, On my mission i have met with 7 pastors and have learned that you get no where with them, but have learned they are great times to think about how much i know my heavenly Father loves all of us, and i always reflect back on how i feel when in those appointments, and Never once have i felt good. People arent willing to learn the spirit wont be felt. IT was awesome because the next appiontment we went to was the baptism of an 8 year old in the ward who loves the missionaries and wanted us to come to the baptism. The spirit was totally different there. As i listened to the primary sing, and watched how happy the family was that this little boy got baptised. It was a totally awesome and welcomed change. the next morning as i read the scriptures i was reading in 3 Nephi 17 where JEsus Christ tells the people to ponder on what he has taught them before he comes the next day...as i came to verse 4 it reads "now i go to my father, and also to show myself unto the lost tribes of Isreal, for they are not lost unto the Father, for he knoweth whither he hath taken them." the words "They are not lost unto the Father" really stuck out to me, the spirit helped me realize that no matter what kind of situation we are put in, no matter how alone we feel, are Heavenly Father is mindful of us, he knows exactly what we need, and WE ARE NOT LOST TO HIM. it was such a wonderful reminder. =) Great experience that i really wanted to share with you.
Yesterday in church i went to priests quorum with Daniel, and we had a great lesson, on charity. The leader spoke about how there are three different types of love, 1- i'll love you if... 2- i love you because, both of wich are conditional and selfish, which really isn't love at al, and 3- i love you even though which is uncontional love, it is the love the savior has when we are invited to come unto christ, we are invited to become like christ. It was a great reminder lesson, that we need to follow moronis advice and seek after the gift of charity. =) after church we had a lesson with Nichole, she is as solid as ever, and will be getting baptized next sunday. =) we are super excited for her, she gets it. The example she has had from members and friends is awesome, and she will definitely be a great help to her family and friends as she grows in the gospel.
Also we started working with a man who has two sons on missions, and he doesnt really know ot much about Christ and used to hate misisonaries, but we have started teaching him and yesterday for the first time in his life he said a prayer!!!!! we softly committed him to baptism. He is so much fun to teach, it was cool because he said the only reason he lets us come back is cause he likes us, haha, its pretty funny, we always start by talking about sports then go in to the gospel, and we are teaching him with his two little children who are members, Just goes to show how powerful a childs testimony is.
Now mom, you asked about christmas stuff...santa will figure it out. ;) haha nah jsut kidding, i honestly have no idea what i need or want. Maybe a new pair of pants? Elder clark and i are buying perry the platypus slippers at walmart today for like $8. haha, he likes phineas and ferb too. Booya.
