Hello hello hello, How are you all doing???? Have you had a great week? I sure hope so.
Well i am going to start by saying sorry...you guys are going to think i am a total pack rat...but a lady in the ward is going to Utah this week and she said she would take a package for me. It is actually pretty cool. Do you know where quail court is? ON the way to smiths? So if you are driving on compton bench road, instead of turning right to go to our house you turn left and go down the little loop-d-loop road haha, and her parents live down on that road. How crazy of a small world is that? She said that since she was basically driving to my house any way she would love to take some stuff home, So I scrounged around some stuff that i have been carrying around for a while, and put it in a box. Sorry I have so much stuff, haha i just dont know what i want to keep or what to throw away, so when i get the opportunity to send it home i do! Thanks for being so patient and understanding. Anyway, i gave her our address, and phone number, she is leaving tomorrow (tuesday morning) Thanks guys. =)
This week was really great. I wrote down the highlights to tell you about, on tuesday we went to zone conference in medford, and since we were close enough, afterwards we got to take a little time to go to the temple. I always love the temple, it is so peaceful, and i learn so much. I dont know why i didnt go more before....Zone conference was really great, President Young is awesome, i love how inspired, motivated, and loving he is, for us, and the work. He is so great. Halfway through the zone conference at lunch we had the first ever OEM IDOL!!!!!!!!!! haha it is our missions knock off version of the american idol, where every district in the mission made a song and sung it...there were some great songs and it was a lot of fun, the assistants wrote a song to the tune of Party in the USA, by miley cyrus, and they were our biggest run for our money. but...lets just say the grassy pants band came out on top, Sister Young told us it was the best in the mission. Haha, we started with just a little dorky song we all made up, using words like stand tall and stand together (our missions theme) then we went into the song "billionaire" and an elder sand "i wanna be a missionary so flippin' bad, teaching truth to those who never had, I wanna be on the cover of Ensign magazine, smiling next to monson and eyring, oh every time i close my eyes, i think about the three nephites, to help gods children follow christ and baptize i swear, grants pass better prepare for when ipm a missionar -y." then another elder came in with a song that came out before he left. I never heard of it, but it was pretty good, then a new missionary sand "if i could find you know things would get better, we could leave this world and live forever oh yeah" and then a sister sang a song, then i came in and sang the song by leona lewis, "keep bleeding love," It was way funny i sounded horendous, i sounded it like this "i keep reading i keep keep reading the bom, i keep reading i keep keep reading the bom." in the highest vioce i could.....=) then another elder was all , "i like the way you do the eldurr eldurr, you standing tall when you walk, it makes em stir makes em stir" Then we all sang the dorky song again, and shouted "remix" and the elder playing guitar played the beat to an eminem song and an elder did a rap...it was super funny. Needless to say...we dominated, and it was pretty funny. I recorded it on video on my camera, i will try and put it on a cd so you can watch it. =)
You asked about thanksgiving and what my plans were, there is a part member family in another ward, who volunteered to feed all of the missionaries so we are going over there to eat dinner, and President Young is allowing us to watch a movie called "17 miracles" i have never heard of it, but i guess it is about the martin and willy handcart company and it is supposed to be pretty good. Other than that not too many plans...cant do much work on that day so we will write some letters, and such, so our p day today is cut short so we can get some work done. IT iwill be good, it gives us a chance to go finding on a day we normally dont get to. So we are looking forward to seeing some miracles and new families today. =) on that note...HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!! I hope you have a great day and it is a lot of fun for you. be safe driving and eat lots of food for me. Just relax (dad) and playsome games and stuff, =)
So last night we had the most awesomest baptism ever. Nichole got baptized and she is doing awesome. During the baptism elder clark and i were talking and we realized that we really didnt do much for this baptism...other than be at the rigtht place at the right time. She had so much influence and support from the members that all we had to do was teach her the lessons...haha. she is awesome. we had like 40 peole at her baptism, all of whom are really close friends of hers. After her baptism her 10 year old son said "i wanna get baptized too!" then he told Brother Miler, the person who baptized nichole, that we wanted to get baptized, and nichole texted us later that night and said that three times before they got home her son brandon had asked when he could get baptized. What a miracle???????? haha this is a small glimpse of the fulness of joy that the three nephites talk about in third nephi. Love it. =)
Mom, so i wanted to let you know that i didnt end up buying the perry the platypus slippers so if you wanted to get those for me for christmas you can, (walmart) =) that is really all i want for christmas. I heard all the hubbub and buzz from members inteh ward that the twilight movei was good and bad, (depending on who you talked to) also i hear that it almost got rated r....sad day. I know a really good movie you could watch it is called joseph smith the prophet fo the restoration. ;)
