Well hello there everyone how are things going? how is life?
Well anyway, Mom and dad asked me a few questions so i will answer those first, My health is good, except i developed a severe case of hypothermia this last week and spent a few days in the hospital (No i am totally just kidding) My sleep is good.. diet, i feel like i am eating really healthy! we have been making some really good dinners, and i think the worst meal of the day for me is probably breakfast, haha, just cereal and milk. lots of times with a grapefruit. Happiness, I couldn't be happier!!!!! stress level...same as sleep haha. ;) The zone is doing ok, the past few weeks we have had people getting baptized, but i feel like we could be doing a lot better. but they are doing well. There are two companionship's that are really struggling, one of them is ending up with an emergency transfer that is happening this week, and the other, the missionaries are being disobedient and so we have actually been working kinda on special assignment with president young, trying to get a mission wide program going to help with these types of problems. it is gonna be an awesome thing. I will send a copy to you when it is all done. =) other than that the zone is doing ok, (they will be better when i leave haha) no just kidding, The singles ward is doing well, actually i have a huge surprise to share with you...guess who is coming to singles ward sacrament meeting on Sunday???????? His name is ELDER L. TOM PERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On Saturday he is meeting with all the missionaries within an hour and a half of Eugene, i am super stoked, and then on Sunday he is coming to the singles ward. he is being accompanied by Elder Clayton in the presidency of the seventy and Elder Brinkerhoff the area seventy. How cool is that??????
Investigators...we are getting there! it is definitely different work here on campus, but we have two solid investigators now, the first is named Jooho, he is from Korea, and was a referral to us from a guy we reactivated. He is way awesome, way sincere and we are stoked, tonight we are gonna invite him to be baptized. =) The other is an investigator who reminds me a lot of our cousin Nathan in Colorado. He is actually from Colorado, but has been in New York for the last little while for culinary art school. He has been taught before, and says nothing is really holding him back from being baptized so we are just going to spiritually pack the lessons so he knows he is ready his name is Kris. (josh if you wanted to send that cd with the teaching by the spirit talk on it i wouldn't mind) I need all the help i can get.
The big focus this week (besides baptism) is getting peole to come to sacrament so they can hear from an apostle! Meals are great, haha we have been cooking machines, and i have been taking pictures of them to show you. We made hamburgers the other day that were no where as near as good as yours mom but they were pretty ok. =) As far as things go for things that i need...i dont really need much of anything, just continued love and support,. Which your all pretty good at. haha but i have found that something that really calms me down when i get stressed is coloring. haha as crazy as that sounds, i spend some time coloring out of this dinky little coloring book that is almost out of pictures. so if you felt the need to send me some crayons and a coloring book that would be cool. Other than that, not too much that i need. Snack foods, we dont really buy snack foods anymore cuz we spend all our money on good cooking food.
So other than that i will tell you a little about my companion. He is from pittsburgh pennsylvania ( i cant remember if i told you that) he is about my size, and a really nice guy. I believe that if our area is the example and we let the zone see how much fun we are having then we wont need to worry about disobedience or lack of trust.
other bits of info, i am definitely working on my own spiritual growth in life. I feel like i have learned quite a lot. I am focusing on being more humble and Christlike. more patient with others and how to better listen. It is hard, hopefully something i learn will stick. If you have any thoughts for me i would love to hear them. I love to hear all your input. Also guess what???? at the church the other day i found the illustrated book of mormon stories series! Remember when we used to read those for FHE? haha totally awesome It made me happy.
ok and now two cool experiences of the week. One our investigator Kyle that used to have a date, he kinda dropped off the face fo the earth for a while, but the other day we got a text from a ward member saying "hey do you know kyle?" and we were all "yeah we do? we havent been able to see him for a while? why?" and he said "well he is in my basketball class and I told him to come with me to Elder Perry next week" and so miracles rock. i love it. Also i got to give a baptismal interview to a man the other day in spanish, with a translator. That was a neat experience. we show up at the church and our district leader needed an interview on the spot so i got to do it, That was kinda nerve racking. the translator had to leave the room for a second and i got to spend a little time with the interviewee, and i had the opportunity to bear my testimony to him in spanish, it was short and simple but it was powerful and the spirit was defiinitley there. =) I love this work and the church.
