Hello, how are you guys doing? It is saturday and President Young asked us to have preparation day today because of New Years and plus all of monday we will be in Eugene for zone leader council. So it is a saturday suprise for ya. haha.
So this week has definitely been one full of blessings. I really just sat in bed yesterday so incredibly happy, it was such a good day. I wanna tell you all about it. so....here goes!!!!
Elder Collins and I have been tracting like crazy, one day we tracted for like 4 hours and on thursday we tracted for 3, the end of that period of tracting was so amazing. We oymed a girl who was washing her windows, and she told us since he had her son (2 months ago) she has been looking for a church to go to but hasn't been able to find one yet, so we taught her the restoration and gave her a Book of Mormon, explaining that the peace and happiness that she was looking for could be found and would be through the Holy Ghost as she sincerely prayed about the church and the Book of Mormon. It was so awesome, the next door we knocked on a man answered and said "gentlemen, come on in." and elder collins and i looked at each other and were like ''what in the world?!?!" so turns out he is a evangelical priest but he was super nice, he said he let us in because it was cold and he wanted us to get warm and he asked us if he could have a card and phone number so when he ran across people who were needing help he would be able to refer them to us, it was pretty awesome, then the last house we knocked on we were talking on their doorstep kinda joking with them a little, then told them we had a message to share that would bring families together not only for this life but help them live forever together, and the mom was like "yeah, come on in." So we taught them a mini lesson about the Book of Mormon, and how the church had been restored, and through that church and the lesssons we share families could live together forever. They have three children (one of them is named hayden) and they were all super awesome. We were on top of the world after that. It was really great to see. Can you say oober blessings from Heavenly Father??????
Yesterday...oh man if i could just relive yesterday and record it i would. We did a three way missionary exchange because we needed to do an interview for our district leader, and he needed to do one for us, and we both wanted to go on exchanges with another companionship so we worked it out so we could. I was with an elder named elder Berg, from pleasant grove, we had an appointment with an investigator named charity, who a couple days earlier had asked us to give her a blessing because she was going in to see if she had recurring cancer, so we went over to teach her and follow up with the doctors appointment and she told us that she did have cancer but that it hadn't grown at all and they were going to be able extract it via surgery. We reassured her that the power of the priesthood was real, she has received a lot of answers to her prayers and she trusts us a lot, she is always calling to ask us to say prayers for members of her family or for her, so we helped her recognize the answers she has already had about the church and then invited her to pray if the 28th of January would be a good day for her to be baptized. It was such a powerful lesson!!!!! Later that night we went and had an interview for Nichole's son, brandon. He is getting baptized today at 4 o'clock. We are super excited for that. After that we ate a quick dinner and ran over to the Book of Mormon class we have on friday nights and i found a few scriptures that i absolutely fell in love with it is really nice to see that everytime I read the spirit is there, how blessed we are to be part of a church where our testimonies can continually be strengthened. the first scripture is Alma 36:26,For because of the aword which he has imparted unto me, behold, many have been born of God, and have btasted as I have tasted, and have seen eye to eye as I have seen; therefore they do know of these things of which I have spoken, as I do know; and the knowledge which I have is of God. and the next one i thought only would apply to me but i found out the reason later that night why it hit me so hard. It is Alma 37:36-37.36 Yea, and acry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy bdoings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy cthoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.37 aCounsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for bgood; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the cmorning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.We had a lesson with Emily last night and she is going to ask her parents if she can be baptized this week, she wants to be baptized on January 21st, She is nervous to ask her parents and the scripture in Alma 37 was exactly what she needed to hear. We invited her to pray for help and then place the situation in the Lords hands, i wish you could have been in that lesson, the spirit was so strong, and she will basically be the Young Womens general president someday. haha. Please keep her in your prayers. man yesterday was a day full of blessings from the Lord. This whole week was....I wish there was a way i could describe it to you, but i dont feel like i can.
I guess that is about all that i have to report on for this week, just other than that to reemphasize and let you know that the Lord is mindful of us in every situation we are in, He sees and knows when we are putting our whole heart in to something and he is ready and willing to bless those who put there trust in him. I have a firm testimony that he Hears and answers our prayers. I am so glad that all of us get to have a personal and close relationship with Him. It definitely helps you feel his love huh?
