Hello Hello, How are you all doing? It sounds like you had a really good week, and it was full of excitement and football. haha. Dad, thanks for the update. What is Boise State ranked now? It was funny yesterday President and sister Young popped in on our church meetings yesterday to talk to us about some things and President was talking to me about the Utah football game, He is a pretty big U of U fan too. haha, it was pretty great.
We did move apartments, President was really worried about us living where we were living, because it was a pretty sketch place. like three days before we moved, someone threw up all over our car, and someone was banging on our door at like 2 in the morning. Lots of parties and stuff...Lets just say it is a major blessing to be moved out. The new apartment is interesting...haha it is a nice place, but we are living with the office elders. We thought there were only gonna be two of them but another elder has back problems and so he is in with us now two, so there are three other elders living there with us as well. Yeah...haha. On Saturday we were out and about contacting people and we were kinda in community with mostly college people, and some people shouted to us and said "hey wanna come party with us?" so i said "NO"..."do you want a book of Mormon?" and so i gave them a book of Mormon, Kinda a random story but it was pretty funny.
This week has been pretty great though. Yesterday at church we had the most investigators i've had come to church since i have been here and Kris got confirmed. I will talk about that in a second. We also got a new investigator who came to church with one of his less active friends. His name is Kevin, he is in a dance crew. So he is a pretty intense dancer. we are meeting with him this week. So on Thursday we had specialized training with all of our district leaders (all 5 of them in our zone) it was really cool, and a really spiritual experience. After words President met with Elder Hackett and I, and i would imagine that it was after that, that he called you all. We had a really good conversation. He just cares so much about all of us missionaries. I will be sure to tell him thank you for calling you. Kris got confirmed yesterday. It was a neat experience, especially since we had some other investigators at church. =) that made it really nice. He is so funny, we met with him last night, and were talking about how he felt, and he said that all the rest of the day he just felt like he wasn't alone. It is amazing to see how much he loves the gospel. He is just so excited about it all. He said he went home and changed his facebook status to "officially confirmed a member of the latter day saints" haha, and last week after his baptism he told us he was sitting on his couch, and he thought to himself, "i should go change my religious views on facebook" haha. He is so funny. He really likes dungeons and dragons (some card game lots of people play i guess?) and wears mario t shirts and belt buckles a lot. He is great. Tonight at Family Home Evening, they are doing an iron chef, and since he went to culinary art school and loves cooking, he is extremely excited for that. When i get a chance i will print off some pictures to send to you. He reminds me a lot of Nathan.
Well, at the district leader training some cool things were discussed, we are really trying to focus on Christ now. there are a couple of things that i want to share with you. the first is a quote one of the missionaries shared "what if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked The Lord for today?" I have been thinking a lot about that lately. also the question that has been circulating in my mind is this, "who is Christ to you?" and i want you all to know that i know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. He is my older brother. Lots of times i will think to myself how great it would be if i could have Josh, or Jake out here to help me when i need it and to be my companion, then i think back to a quote josh gave me when i left. That i can make Christ my greatest and constant companion. Although i cant have josh or Jake as companions i can have one of my big brothers as a companion, and i am so grateful for it. He loves us all so so much. In the doctrine and covenants in section 50: 40-42 it says:
40 Behold, ye are little children and ye cannot bear all things now; ye must grow in grace and in the knowledge of the truth.
41 Fear not, little children, for you are mine, and I have overcome the world, and you are of them that my Father hath given me;
42 And none of them that my Father hath given me shall be lost.
I love this, to me is shows how much we are loved. We have been given to our brother to be looked after. He truly knows us, I love how it tells us that none of them that my Father hath given me shall be lost. Think about that. That's how much we are loved, Christ is my older brother, My savior, My best friend. I love Him so much. I am so grateful for the opportunity that i have to be out here to serve him. I know i don't share my testimony with you all enough, but know that i know this Church is true. You are all the best! i love you. thank you for all that you do.
