Hey!-
Well first of all let me start by saying hey howdy hey. Hannah, starting driving and going to New York and partying it up sounds like a fun week!. I know i owe you like 50 letters but your birthday present may make up for that a little...At least it took me some time to work on so i hope you like it. I hear Jake i s wanting to move home for the Summer, (probably so he and josh can have secret combinations and plot against me) haha just kidding.
Here are a few things I want to review...1) have you been on mormon.org? it is really pretty cool. I went on for the first time the other day and the face that was smiling back at me was Bruce Summerhays. You should go check it out. You can go to his profile and watch his video. He looks like he is doing awesome and having lots of fun. 2) on youtube, (atleast i think it is on youtube) there is a song called 'How can i be' it is a really powerful song. i am getting it on a cd. You should check it out.
wow, that opening paragraph was semi long. my bad. So like i mentioned we have four baptisms this weekend. Do you remember that Samoan family that we have been working with, well i was talking to the father the other day and he said that they wanted to get baptized before i left the area. So the next night we met and i kinda did something bad....haha i said that i may or may not be getting transferred at the end of the month...and so the dad said. " ok we dont want to get baptized then if you are leaving" and i was all like NO!!!!!! haha but then he said "nah just kidding Nelson, we have decided we want to get baptized on the 16th" so that is the plan. haha. Also Art and vicki are getting baptized this weekend. They are both super excited and really cannot wait at all. Like they woulda been baptized a month and a half ago but they had things they needed to learn. haha. darn missionary discussions. bahahaha. just kidding. although it seems that during the times of most success, satan likes to intervene and make things difficult. The second half of the week has been...well lets just say full of opposition. haha. we have run in to snags and snares and all sorts of problems with things happening with investigators and stuff. so if you would just keep me and those i am serving in your prayers. =) that would be really nice. haha. these are also times to learn and grow right? so that is what i plan on doing. other than that i dont have too much other than i gave an extremely scary blessing the other day to a lady the sisters are teaching. i wont tellyou all about it. but i will say that she was going in to labor two months early.
Well i want to share something that has really helped me this week it is a talk by President Eyring "you are called of god. The lord knows you he knows whom he would have serve in every position of His church. He chose you. He has prepared a way so that He could issue your call. You are called to represent the savior. Your voice to testify becomes the same as His voice, your hands to lift the same as His hands. His work is to bless, His Fathers spirit children with the opportunity to choose eternal life. so your calling is to bless. In the world to come thousands may call your name blessed, even more than the people you serve here. They will be the ancestors and the descendants of those who chose eternal life. because of something you said or did, or even what you were. You are in the masters service, you are his representative. Eternal lives depend on you. He faced opposition and he said that facing opposition would be the lot of those He called. The forces arrayed against you will try not only to frustrate your work but to bring you down. The apostle Paule described it this way "for we wrestle not against the flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world."
"There will be times when you will feel overwhelmed. one of the ways you will be attacked is with a feeling that you are inadequate..well...you are inadequate to answer a call to represent God with only your own powers, but you have access to more than your natural capacities and you do not work alone. The lord willl magnify what you say and what you do in the eyes of the people you serve. He will send the holy ghost to manifest to them what you spoke was true. what you say and do will carry hope and direction to people far beyond your natural abilities and your own understanding that miracle has been a mark of the lords church in every dispensation. It is so much a part of your call that you may begin to take it for granted, the day of your release will teach you a great lesson, God magnifies those whom he calls. Even in what seem to you a small or inconspicuous service. You have the gift of seeing your service magnified, give thanks while that gift is yours. You will appreciate its worth more than you can imagine. If I only think of my own performance my sadness deepens but when i think that the Lord promised his power would go with me I begin to look for evidence of what he has done in the lives of the people I am to serve. I pray to see with spiritual eyes the effects of his power. Let us cheerfully do all things that are in our power, and then may we stand still with the utmost assurance to see the salvation of God and his arm to be fulfilled. You can have the utmost assurance that your power will be multiplied many times by the lord. all he asks is that you give your best effort and your whole heart, do it cheerfully and with a prayer of faith. the father and his beloved son will send the holy ghost as your companion to guide you. Your efforts will be magnified in the lives of people you serve. and when you look back on what may now seem trying times of service and sacrifice, the sacrifice will become a blessing and you will know that you have seem the arm of god lifting those you serve for him, and lifting you."
Well other than that not too much to report. I want you all to know that i love you and you are constantly in my heart thoughts and prayers. please be safe this week and have lots of fun. I love you i love you i love you.
