Hello there!!!!!!! I am glad to hear Elder Fowers is doing well. So it sounds like things are going great back home. How is BYU doing? i hear they are winning lots. thats good also i hope...Mom, i am so glad to hear your lesson went well. You mentioned that it never seems to go the way you plan it to. That is totally a good thing. That means that you are teaching by the spirit. Which is the only way to teach. So that is awesome. Good luck this week, i know it will go well. what are you teaching about? thanks for the TL's i appreciate that. I cant believe they still remember me. Dad, how are things going? if the weather is warm enough to do yard work i am going to assume that it is warm enough to ride your vtx? right? how is it? you guys I hear are going golfing? have fun!
so I will start with just a few thoughts, First the area is doing great. We have 5 people set with baptismal dates and have two more really good potential dates. They just arent sure yet. (I know putting it in the Lords hands things will workout how theyare supposed to) also i am slightly sad at the moment, because on saturday (transfer calls, this transfer went by way too fast) we found out that elder Foster is leaving, i am way sad, he has been an amazing companion. i feel bad he is not going to be here to see all those he helped get baptized. but he is needed elsewhere. and my new companion is going to be Elder mcmakin. not sure if you remember him but he and i served around each other in klamath falls. so it will be great. The zone leaders and i both think i am only going to be here one more transfer, but it is all up to the lord and what he wants.
So we are teaching a family. The Rightnour family they are three children who always take our pass al long cards and play trading cards with them it is funny. the parents are both members, but the children have not been baptized. There oldest hunter is 12 and he has autism, so he has not been baptized, and so their next oldest hannah who is 8 has not been baptized either. the bishop spoke with us and feels that Hunter is accountable enough to be baptized. So we have started teaching them, and this past monday we went over to see them right before they left to go to portland for hannah (she was having a surgury on her achiles tendons on both her feet) so we taught them and watched the movie joseph smith the prophet of the restoration with them, and for like 20 minutes after the movie christy (the mom) was crying. It was incredible to see. this family has changed and grown so much, they truly are wonderful. and mom dont get mad but i gave some of the goodies you gave me to them...haha i felt like they could use them. so we took them a plate of goodies. dont worry i gave you the credit though haha.
This weekend i went on exchanges with one of the elders in my district, elder wiggerman, he is awesome, the night before we were planning and we decided for companionship study we wanted to learn how to better our areas and our companionships and our future families. it was an awesome study. it was interesting to see how it all came back to time and things we wanted to do. i kept being reminded of things we had done as a family since i was little. i am grateful to you all for helping me grow to be who i am. I love ya for it. So one more thought. I have the opportunity to meet with the stake presidents once a month to correllate how the work is going in each ward. so last night we met and after all the discussion we got in to the scriptures and the one he shared was Romans 5:1-4, the stake president challenged the stake to study for 15 minutes a day about what allows Jesus Christ to be our savior. and he shared this scripture then shared some thoughts about the part that says "knowing that tribulation worketh patience, and patience, experience, and experience, hope.' he then shared his thoughts. he said that the last few hours of the Saviors life, he had the most tribulation, the most patience, and some of the most growth. He then said thats how we need to be. We need to be able to stand for what we know is right at all times. Like the savior, we need to be firm and steadfast and gain the attribute of patience through our character, and how we act under tribulation. honestly i am really butchering this haha the way he described it was so powerful.
