So the members here are really great. the ward is tiny, but good. it is smaller than Klamath falls. but they are all wonderful and a lot more focused on missionary work. I serve in two wards actually the family ward and the singles ward. lets just say the singles ward might not last too much longer for the missionaries. there is really no work there, and they dont trust or support us at all, i tried to talk with the bishop but he kinda shunned me and shrugged me off. but thats ok. ya live and ya learn. I live in an apartment complex, it is super old haha. but i like it. it has more furniture than klamaths apartment, so it is pretty cozy. =) Medford is really a great place, a lot more people than klamath, a lot of fun, and i really like working here, we get yelled at a lot more and sworn at and stuff haha. it is pretty fun. the investigators are good, i have some stories for you all that i cant wait to share. =) so with those questions answered i will get started on the week.
so this week has been one full of ups and downs, excitement and disappointment. to start i will first tell you i made a new friend, His name is Elder Bruce Merrill of the seventy...haha yeah you read right. So This weekend we had stake conference and Elder Merrill came to speak, after the Saturday night session (don't worry president MacDonald wanted us there that night) he came over and was talking with us and he asked where i was from and so i told him then he said "i have a brother in law and sister from Farmington, but they are on a mission right now" so i said "whats their name?" then he said "the Summerhays" and so i said "NO WAY!!!" "he was my home teacher!" then we spoke for a little bit more and he said he called them sometimes because sister summerhays is his sister, and he is a general authority they can do that haha. so he said he was going to tell them he met me and such. Kinda a fun story! well at least it made me happy.
this week we had a really good lesson with daniel. he is working on quitting smoking so he has been struggling a little bit. Well we came back on the third day of his no smoking and he said he had a huge migraine, and wasn't feeling too well. So we went through the lesson of the Plan of Salvation and spend a lot of time just visiting and calming him down. After wards i felt prompted to ask him if he still had his migraine,, and after a couple of minutes of bewildered thinking, he said "no...not at all!!!" it was so amazing. It is truly wonderful to see the calming and powerful impact that the spirit and truthfulness the gospel can have in peoples lives. Including mine, which brings me to my next event of the week. So yesterday we went to visit a part member family i had never met before, and the entire day i had been frustrated with numbers because to be quite honest the numbers this week sucked. so As i was stressed about that we went in to teach the next lesson, and i felt super prompted to ask if we could share a spiritual message with them, and the thought came to mind to share about lehi and sariah wanting their whole family to enjoy the fruit of the tree of life, i related that to this family (the moore family) and how their family could live together forever only on condition that they followed the word of God and did all they were asked to. The spirit was super strong and the wife said she had a lot of thinking to do, (she is the non member) we left with a super positive feeling. and after i got back out to the car i realized i hadn't thought about numbers that whole time!!! it was so fetching sweet! haha.
well there are my experiences for you this week. I hope you enjoy them. I sure do love you guys. I am way happy to have you all in my life. I sure did miss you guys this weekend realizing you were all at the cabin, but i probably had more fun than you haha just kidding...but really i saw so many miracles this week and i am so blessed that i have the opportunity to recognize and receive these blessings. I love you all and i cant wait to hear from you soon. love ya!
